Dry ice

A short film made at London’s Science Museum.

Small nuggets of dry ice are slowly fed into a pool of warm water where the carbon dioxide reacts and turns immediately from a solid to gas. This energy is what propels the pieces around the pool and is what makes for a rather beautiful and mesmerising phenomenon.

Music is Mozart, Piano Concerto No. 21, Andante.
